School of Economics at UMB
In today’s world, fast-paced and full of technology, children often don’t get to see how money is earned and spent. They watch us order online, pay with plastic and see boxes arrive at the front door. School of Economics (SOE) helps fill in the gaps with a curriculum based simulation where students get to touch, feel and experience money and transactions in the traditional sense — learning the fundamentals that will help them throughout life.
By opening a second location on UMB's downtown campus, School of Economics is set to eventually double its reach. This central location makes SOE more accessible to students from across the bistate Kansas City region and has a specific focus on reaching those from under-resourced schools and districts. I served on the UMB leadership team that oversaw the School of Economics expansion project and was responsible for the marketing and communication activities, including brand management and public relations.
UMB Blogs
UMB used its blog to document and share the progress of the SOE project. While I'm not the byline for all posts, I'm responsible for the development and review of all SOE at UMB content.
