UMB Market

UMB created the UMB Market to help teach children the value of money and how it relates to food. The UMB Market is an interactive financial education simulation where children practice sticking to a budget while shopping for healthy food at the grocery store. The UMB Market debuted at the American Royal School Tours in 2016. Teachers, parents and students enjoyed the exhibit so much, we added a second to ensure more school groups could experience the simulation. In a typical year, I would help train more than 100 associates to volunteer at the UMB Market, which is visited by as many as 6,000 kids. In 2020 and 2021, the UMB Market has gone virtual so it can be completed by kids independently at home or together in a classroom setting.

Pivot to Virtual

In 2020, I conceptualized, wrote, directed and produced materials and videos to transition the in-person activity to a virtual format.
